From Yueyang, China to Albany, New York
Liam Duan grew up in Yueyang, Hunan Province, China, where he was surrounded by art from an early age. Alongside his love for drawing, he was also deeply passionate about basketball and eSports—thriving in competition and teamwork.
A Journey Through Design
After high school, he moved to Albany, New York, drawn by the diversity and creative opportunities in the U.S. During his early years in high school, Liam developed a fascination with digital tools and visual media, which led him to study digital media at a local community college. He later transferred to SUNY Cobleskill, where he specialized in pattern and graphic design.
Shaping the Future
University life was a whirlwind of design projects and volunteer work—from illustrations and logos to poster campaigns. These experiences helped him refine his creativity and strengthen his visual storytelling.
Today, Liam is pursuing his Master’s degree in Information Design and Technology at SUNY Poly, preparing to merge his artistic roots with the evolving world of technology—ready to design with impact in a digital-first era.
